With all the activities available to them, many young people spend much of their free time online. Whether it be watching videos, playing games or texting friends they get caught up in the fun and may not know what to beware of. There is a new program to help young people stay safe online. Michelle Reinen is with The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP).
The cost to use the program is very reasonable and the information will be interesting to the child learning about online safety.
Michelle Reinen says that Youville can be used anywhere to help inform a young person.
You can find this informational program by going to consumer.ftc.gov and then search for “Youville.” Also if you, or a child, has been scammed online you can contact DATCP’s Consumer Protection Hotline by phone at 1-800-422-7128 or by email at DATCPHotline@wi.gov.
