There’s something magical about seeing the world through a new lens. And for Madison Malone, this clarity arrived with motherhood.

“I’ve always been in awe of my mom,” Madison explains. “I respected every choice she made and how hard she worked. But after having my own son, everything just hits me harder.”

Madison reveals now recognizing the quiet heroism in everyday parenting. And she has a new understanding around the delicate balance of giving a child wings while never dimming their light.

This year, the singer-songwriter, currently based in Los Angeles, is celebrating Mother’s Day at home in Central Wisconsin. She’ll surround herself with three generations: her mom, herself, and her son. It’s a full circle moment wrapped in a legacy of love.

“It’s really special,” she says. “Just to be together and celebrate all that motherly love.”

Looking back, Madison recalls her childhood Mother’s Days were filled with handmade art, breakfast outings, and quality time as a family. These days, she and her wife — both moms — are building their own version of that tradition.

“It’s kind of hilarious,” she laughs. “We’re figuring it out as we go. But it’s turning into exactly what I remember as a child. Enjoying the togetherness.”

Motherhood isn’t just shifting her priorities. It’s reshaping her identity.

“I’m a completely different person,” she shares. “I have a purpose now. I want to do well for him and help create a legacy.”

This also means creating music to honor her journey. Madison’s original song “Bravo” is named after her son. She created the lullaby before he was even born and released it on Mother’s Day a few years ago.

So now, when the challenges of life — or the music industry — get tough, Madison leans into her strengths.

“I pushed a baby out of my body,” she says with a smile. “There’s nothing you can do that will make me feel less than.”

This Mother’s Day, she stands not just as a musician or a mom — but as a woman transformed yet rooted in the love all around her.
